A new company dealing with Fresh Food are searching for a Butcher


Job Objectives
  • To slaughter, process and preserve livestock accordingly to meet the need of the retail outlets and bulk orders from direct customers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Slaughter and process livestock as directed by the Veterinarian or Farm Manager.
  • Weigh all product items in accordance with specified procedures outlined by standard practice.
  • Ensure a clean, neat and organized work area that is free from debris and safety hazards.
  • Observe and maintain the Slaughter house sanitation and food safety standards
  • Perform yield tests when necessary.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products with the appropriate packaging.
  • Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed to the Farm Manager.
  • Maintain an inventory of accidents and near miss in the slaughter house as well as reporting such incidents or other related issues to the Farm Manager/line supervisor on duty.
  • Conduct farm manual activities, such as feeding livestock and cleaning the abattoir environment.
  • Liaise with the sales department to ensure all orders are processed on time.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Farm Manager, Veterinarian Doctor and Chief Operations Officer.
Competency and Skills Requirements:
  • High sense of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Demonstrated experience in butchering and processing of livestock.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Sound ethics and integrity.

  • Must be discernibly honest and of consistent upright character
  • Must be ethical i.e. must follow the ideals and responsibilities of the industry.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience as a butcher.
