We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Events Officer

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Description:

  • Conducting research, make site visits, and find resources to assist in decisions about event possibilities
  • Carrying out negotiation with vendors
  • Coordinating details of events such as conferences, opening and closing ceremonies, fundraising dinners, charity events and business meetings.
  • Managing staff responsible for event coordination activities
  • Preparing and managing budget for various events
  • Keeping track of event finances including cheque requests, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Booking venues and negotiating fees.
  • Preparing, modifying and managing events and servicing contractual agreements
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing invitations and sending out at appropriate time.
  • Serving as liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
  • Managing supplier relationships
  • Managing security and logistics for events.
  • Managing the company s participation in book fairs and festivals within and outside Nigeria.
  • Sourcing for and contracting event vendors.
  • Coordinating appointments and visits to see our space, and scheduling of events on the calendar.
  • Analyzing event performance and preparing post event evaluation.
  • Defining the company s brand through events.
  • Proposing new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
  • Assisting with managing on-site production and cleanup for events as necessary
  • Ensuring staff are adequately prepared for events.
  • Delivering events on time, within budget, that meet (and hopefully exceed) expectations.
  • Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on every event
  • Preparing and providing periodic progress reports to Management for each event project.
  • Managing operational and administrative functions to ensure specific projects are delivered efficiently
  • Performing other related duties as may be assigned.


Requirement:

  • University degree in business, management preferred; significant work experience can substitute for the degree.
  • At least 3 years experience with office administrative management.
  • At least 3 years experience event management or related fields.
