Job Title: CMAM Coverage Deputy Program Manager

Job Description

  • The CMAM (Community Management of Acute Malnutrition) program coverage deputy manager (DPM) will assist and work closely with CMAM program coverage program manager (PM) in planning, designing, conducting, analyzing and reporting on SLEAC and SQUEAC assessments. He or she will assist the PM to train ACF staff, relevant resource persons of the state Ministry of Health (SMOH), partner agencies using the Simplified LQAS (Lot Quality Assurance Sampling) Evaluation of Access and Coverage (SLEAC) and Semi-Quantitative Evaluation of Access and Coverage (SQUEAC) methods.
  • The nature of the implementation involves collection of relevant data while compiling draft report progresively. The DPM backstops the PM in all aspects of planning including recruitment of surveyors, supervision of coverage teams in the field and quality check on all data ensuing from the surveys. The survey investigations are a set of continuous activities that requires meticulous planning and organization within the planned period.
  • The DPM is directly managed by the PM and in a coordinated effort also, liaises with the Head of Bases (HoBs), State Technical Advisor (STA), State M&E officer, LGA officers, and Logistics & administration (Log & Admin) from time to time. He will assist the PM to supervise the CMAM program coverage officers while in the field.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Basic degree in a field related to statistics, public health nutrition, epidemiology or any other related discipline.


Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in the implementation and management of or provision of technical support to nutrition programs (including Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition)
  • Prior experience in coverage assessments (e.g. SQUEAC, SLEAC,)
  • Prior capacity building/training experience essential
  • Excellent communication skills essential
  • Prior evaluation experience an asset
  • Ability to create solutions or responses to problems in an autonomous way
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • High level of English written and oral communication essential
  • Ability to speak Hausa.
