    Vibration Analysis training portharcourt-jan-August 2019
    Vibration Analysis training
    OBJECTIVES:
This training course is designed to answer the needs of maintenance systems for a comprehensive and integrated methodology in machine troubleshooting.
At the end of the course, the participant is expected:

    • To be introduced to the concepts of predictive maintenance and condition monitoring.
    • To be familiar with the various condition monitoring techniques which enhance the efficiency, reliability and safety of equipment.
    • To give each participant an understanding of vibration as it relates to machine condition, along with hands-on demonstrations and class exercises designed to show proper diagnostics of machinery vibration root cause.

Prerequisites: Fundamentals of Vibration or up to six months of vibration and alignment experience is recommended.

    COURSE CONTENT:
Predictive maintenance techniques: Predictive maintenance basics

    • Maintenance philosophies
    • Principles of predictive maintenance
    • Predictive maintenance techniques
    • Vibration analysis – a key predictive maintenance technique

    Predictive maintenance techniques: Vibration basics

    • Spring-mass system: mass, stiffness, damping
    • System response
    • What is vibration?
    • The nature of vibration and Hamornics

    Data acquisition

    • Collection of vibration signal – vibration transducers, characteristics and mountings
    • Conversion of vibrations to electrical signal.

    Signal processing, applications and representations

    • The fast Fourier transform (FFT) analysis
    • Time waveform analysis

    WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

    • This course is appropriate for the maintenance and condition monitoring personnel, engineering, technical support, and management personnel whose job functions involve decision making on rotating machinery.

    METHODOLOGY

    • Standard lecture with the use of Power Point presentation and audio?visual media and practical case studies will be analyzed critically to boost hands – on experience with practical demonstration of principles and techniques so listed. Participants will be grouped during the field exercise to enhance better understanding. Relevant information in the form of theories, data, trends and advances presented in a concise manual for reference purpose.
    • Interactive class sessions with active involvement of participants to be facilitated by experienced certified engineers.
    • 60% hands?on with simulated practical discussions and 40% theoretical work.
    • Pre?course and post?course quiz.
