Plant Design Management System Training (PDMS).
1 ON 1 Training.
a. Aims and Objectives: The student will be trained to use Plant Design Management System (PDMS) to design and implement production and process plants. At the end of the training, the students will be able to do the following;
ü Understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams and How to Use them.
ü Be able to Identify , Size and Model Different types of Standard Plant Equipments (Mechanical)
ü Be able to Identify, Size and Model Different types of Piping Components(Mechanical)
ü Be able to Identify Structural Sections(Structural Students)
ü Be able to Model Plant Structures(Structural Students)
ü Be able to Produce Detailed Fabrication Drawings of Frameworks(Structural Students)
ü Use Design Utilities to Check for Clashes and Errors in Design (Both Mechanical and Structural Students).
ü Produce Model Views of All Kinds, Fabrication Drawings, and Material Take Off Estimates. (Both Mechanical and Structural Students).

b. Method of training:
ü The project based approach will be used to introduce the students to the software. This implies that the instructor will walk the students through a Design Project after which the students will be encouraged to form teams that will take on Different Plant Design Project. Intensive Class work and Practical Design Sessions evidenced by submission of completed Plant Drawing Details are requisite for certification.


c. Duration of Training

Coordinated Class Work: 40 hours
Class Group Project Work: 16 hours
Individual Test and Certification: 04 hours
Total Duration: 60 hours
For Weekend Course (12 hours per weekend): 5 weekends.
For Intensive Training (5 hours/day): 12 days.

d. Requirements for Training
ü A computer with windows XP as operating System. PDMS works only on Windows XP. However Provisions will be made to dual-boot systems operating on vista or more recent operating systems.
ü Minimum memory requirement is 500MB Ram.
