Water aid is an international development agency dedicated to the provision of safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people. we support local organisations to manage low cost, sustainable projects and provide policy support to secure the right of poor people to affordable water and sanitation services. To effectively implement our country strategy, Wateraid Nigeria is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position: Head of Governance – Abuja You will bring strategic leadership to the governance objectives of wateraid and ensure effective implementation of our strategic objective / new drive on advocacy. you will balance technical expertise with an ability to motivate and mentor your team of 5 members. as a member of the senior management team, you will set the direction and professional standards of this international development agency. The position is based in abuja but will require regular travel to support our 6 state offices and forty local partner organisations, with occasional travel to uk and other countries in the west africa region. Minimum Requirements Include: A good first degree in social sciences and a masters degree in related field. full membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage. you will also have a strong knowledge of advocacy and networking with major stakeholders in the water, sanitation and hygiene (wash) sector and a minimum work experience of 10 years, of which 5 must be in senior management position.
