A leading ecommerce company in Africa is looking for candidates for their Head of Country: Nigeria vacancy. The ideal candidate is a leader who can take multi-tasking to the next level and ensure maximum efficiency for the company’s e-commerce operations in West Africa.
Responsibilities:
• Designs, implements, and evaluates organization and staffing to effectively accomplish the goals and objectives; recruits, employs, trains, and manages professional and support staff
• Provides advanced leadership and direction to and manages staff, in accordance with company goals and objectives
• Directs and coordinates activities of all departments
• Interacts regularly with executive team and individual department heads to ensure that company’s operational priorities are aligned with overall company direction
• Participate in partner/ affiliate negotiations to ensure product relevance and cost-efficiency
• Oversee accounting and logistics functions
• Continually investigate and introduce process improvement measures and present suggestions for consideration

Experience & Knowledge:
• Excellent knowledge of the market situation, distribution channels and competitors
• Proven experience in local retail environment: direct to consumer planning and customer service
• Experience in or familiarity with mobile and online marketing environment a recommendation
• Familiar with e-fulfillment operations
• 8 – 10 years relevant experience
• Working knowledge of PC based internet and software applications
• Proven experience with organizational development, product strategy, process reengineering, cost analysis
• Experience in a B2C & C2C e-commerce company recommended
• Customer communication experience
• On-demand purchasing/sales experience
• Negotiation power
• Budgeting and forecasting experience

Education:
• A Post graduate degree in Business or related field. An MBA would be preferable.

Skills:
• Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
• Employee development and performance management skills
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial and operational data and prepare business reports, projections, and recommendations
