Accounts Assistant
Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Reform Programme
The Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Reform Project [WSSSRP] assisted by the European Union, seeks to contribute to poverty eradication, sustainable development, and achievement of the Millennium Development Goals in Nigeria.
The programme is active in Cross River State and is seeking an Accounts Assistant on a contract of 18 months. The Accounts Assistant will provide accounting support to a State Technical Unit comprising a Co-coordinator, Water Supply and Sanitation Engineer, Finance and Contracts Manager, Hygiene Promotion / Community Mobilization Specialist and various short-term specialists.
The successful candidate will be expected to work within a multi disciplinary team under the supervision of the Finance and Contracts Manager and should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. In addition, the successful candidate must have good organizational skills and the ability to work on his/her own initiative.
It is expected that the successful candidate will have at least an HND in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business Administration or other related discipline and a minimum of three [3] years relevant work experience. Proficiency in the use of standard office software [e.g. Word, and Excel] and at least one computerized accounting package as well as familiarity with e-mail and the internet are essential. Experience on international donor assisted projects would be an advantage.

The Administrative Assistant will provide secretarial and administrative support to a State Technical Unit comprising a Co-coordinator, Water Supply and Sanitation Engineer, Finance and Contracts Manager, Hygiene Promotion / Community Mobilization Specialist and various short-term specialists.
