Job Description

1. Job Title: Research Analyst

2. Division: Business Development

3. Key Relationships:
• Interface with Business Development Group (BDG).
• New (and existing) products development and marketing.
• Support business teams and BDG to assess opportunities for the company.
• Support management’s initiative.

4. Key Responsibilities:
• Research Activities
• Research new geographic markets and assess market opportunities
• Development and evaluation of realistic market entry options
• Analyze new and existing markets with a view to developing proposals for launching new products or extending the reach of existing products
• Research competitors to understand their geographical / product strategies
• Source, analyze and interpret external and internal data, information and trends to assist with research activities
• Identify and manage information, tools and processes (both internal and external) to deliver such research, working with other ‘knowledge managers’ across the Group.
• Develop and maintain constructive, professional relationships with suppliers of knowledge and information services to the company.

Person Specification:
1. Personnel Profile
• Age: Not more than 32 years.
• Sex: Male or Female.
2. Education and Qualifications
• Graduate degree/ HND equivalent qualifications from a reputable University.
• 2-3 years post-graduation work experience and references
• Membership of Professional bodies; added advantage.

3. Skills and Abilities
• Ability to understand business strategies and work with other departments within the organization
• Demonstrate creativity to see the big picture and show experience of successfully shaping strategic issues from idealization through to implementation.
• Able to coordinate inputs from multiple sources, in order to reach a coherent view on an area
• Shows initiative and self-motivation.
• Ability to maintain good working relationship with co-workers.
• Excellent report presentation skills allowing for clear presentation of key facts.
• Use of various analysis and strategic frameworks to enable opportunities to be researched and assessed.
