OIL & GAS TRAINING

Techno-Diffusion Company Limited (TDC) presents the following Oil & Gas industry training courses in Lagos during the Q2, 2009:

1. PROCESS PLANT LAYOUT / PIPING DESIGN

OVERVIEW
Process plants such as refineries and petrochemical plants are complex facilities consisting of equipment, piping systems, instruments, electrical systems, electronics, computers, and control systems. The design, engineering and construction of process plants involve multidisciplinary team effort. Plant layout and design of piping systems constitute a major part of the design and engineering effort. The fact is that there are few formal training programs with a focus on plant layout and design of piping systems, therefore most of the required skills are acquired while on the job, reducing productivity and efficiency.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is designed for personnel who want to understand the design and engineering principles involved in process plant layout and piping design. Those who will benefit the most from this workshop include the following:
• Personnel from EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) companies
• Chemical (Process), Mechanical, Project, & Consulting Engineers
• Personnel providing CAD support for Plant Layout and Piping Design
• Designers and Engineers involved in Instrumentation and Control of Process Plants
• Piping, Equipment, Structural, & Electrical Designers and Engineers
• Plant Maintenance Personnel

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course the attendees will have a clear understanding of the design and engineering principles used in plant layout and piping design in a cost effective manner

2. HSE MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONS

OVERVIEW
HSE Management in Operations is required in many areas not only as part of Corporate Objectives but also to meet the standards set by the legislators. HSE critical installations require a specific HSE case to demonstrate that all significant risks are managed. In general the EP Companies will have to give assurance to the legislator that hazards associated with the asset and its operation have been fully identified and are properly managed. This course will address these requirements in detail to give the participants a good understanding of all the HSE issues in the Operational domain.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Staff with responsibilities in Operations, Maintenance, HSE, Engineering and overall Management (including Contractors).

OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, participants will have gained an advanced insight into Operational HSE.

3. FUNDAMENTALS OF DRILLING PROCESS

OVERVIEW
This course focuses on providing new personnel and personnel who are not directly involved in the drilling operation with a general knowledge of the drilling process and its equipment. The course covers all aspects of drilling, including drilling units design, drilling equipment, well design and well related problems. The objective is to educate participants in drilling and create awareness in the process.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
New drilling personnel and engineers, personnel who are only partially involved in the drilling operations, petroleum engineers. Production, maintenance, logistics and materials staff, geologists and reservoir engineers.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course participants will have a basic knowledge and understanding of the drilling process and its equipment. This knowledge and understanding will promote cooperation and interaction within the company, assisting in better operational performance.

4. INTRODUCTION TO OIL AND GAS TECHNOLOGY

OVERVIEW
This course will provide the participants with an overview of the oil and gas production and related facilities. It will present an overview/fundamental understanding of the wide range of oil and gas production handling and treatment equipment. The training gives emphasis of the calculation of reserves, fluids properties from reservoir through gathering network.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The course is designed for petroleum engineering, non-petroleum engineering, secretarial, administrative, management, field support, accounting, purchasing, economics, legal, finance, human resources, drafting, land and data processing personnel, and those interested in obtaining a general understanding of the petroleum industry.

OBJECTIVES
The delegates will gain an overall knowledge about various aspects of the oil & gas production operations. These include production of gas and oil, and surface processing units and operations such as artificial Lift and pressure maintenance operations. Issues related to mid-stream and down-stream will be discussed as well, including recent developments.

An introductory module of Introduction to the Oil & Gas industry is designed for each training course.
