The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has approved major changes in the top Management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

In the exercise, the current six Group Executive Directors have been replaced as follows:

Ag. Group Executive Director (Corporate Services)

Mr Augustine Olusegun Oniwon (North Central)
Ag. Group Executive Director (Refining and Petrochemicals)

Mr Philip Onwuzuike Chukwu (South East)
Ag. Group Executive Director (Exploration and Production)

Mr Aminu A. Babakusa (North West)
Ag. Group Executive Director (Commercial and Investment)

Mr Faithful Abi Abiyesoku (South South)
Ag. Group Executive Director (Engineering and Technology)

Mr Micheal Abiodun Arokodare (South West)
Ag. Group Executive Director (Finance and Accounts)


According to the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo, the ongoing changes are in response to the enormous challenges of survival and growth of the corporation.

The appointments take immediate effect.


I look at this positive development as a good news for all NNPC 2008 Graduate Trainee hopefuls. I remember in January, Mr. President suspended any further appointment in NNPC do to querry from Leaders of the oil rich zone of Nigeria.Looking at the appointment above your can see the Federal character in display to avoid another querry.
