Purpose/Context/Scope:
Purpose:
q To manage the statutory returns process and reconciliations.

q To contribute ideas, energy, enthusiasm and support to the continuous improvement of the “Record To Report” process.

q Responsible for tax administration and reconciliation of various tax accounts in the company trial balance.

q Responsible for all employees and expatriates PAYE tax administration.

q Provide continuous support to the Finance Accounting Manager on adhoc and routine basis.

Context
q The Financial Accounting Officer will assist the Finance Reporting Manager in implementing policies as it relates to all tax matters and effecting compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.

q Reconciliation of tax accounts

q Tax Remittance

q Fixed costs reporting

Financial:
q Keep accurate record of all tax remittances receipt

q Prompt and accurate payments of WHT on contract and PAYE on monthly basis

Market Complexity:
The Financial Accounting Officer is required to play a significant role in tax related matters within financial control team to ensure that tax remittances are made in compliance with statutory requirement.

Accountabilities:
q Collect all relevant accounting and tax information for corporation tax computation (Tax Pack preparation) in line with tax return deadline.

q Reconciliation of duty liability account and the contractor invoice.

q Reconciliation of duty liability account in the GL, to the duty calculated on the stock movement in the material module.
q Monthly review of all ledger postings in respect of all tax accounts. Reconciliation of all tax account.
q Resolution of reconciling items within two weeks of occurrence.
q Ensure Monthly processing of all company’s tax liabilities.
q Regular liaison with the relevant tax authorities and tax consultant as it relates to Guinness Nigeria Plc.
q Obtain necessary documents evidencing payments for all company’s tax liabilities.

Qualifications and Experience:
q Graduate caliber or Degree level qualification in related field with relevant work experience.

q Ability to take commercial insights and translate into the Organization & People Agenda including good customer service.
q Analytical and interpretative skills.

q Sound IT knowledge in the use of outlook (Excel, word and PowerPoint).
