Financial Analyst

A young financial advisory/consulting firm located in Victoria Island Lagos seeks a talented and self-motivated Financial Analyst to strengthen its advisory and financial analysis team

Functions
• prepare analysis of companies, industries and financial markets via historical financial statements and forecast financial performance, and independently apply finance theory concepts to determine present and future financial performance/ valuation of corporations
• contribute to analyzing project finance and investment proposals via cash flow modelling and yield/IRR analysis, structuring credits, preparing and presenting credit memos with recommendations for approval or otherwise in quick turnaround times
• conduct market research, independently gather, analyze and interpret relevant business information to prepare and implement business plans and feasibility reports, utilizing sound understanding of accounting, finance and economics concepts
• contribute to analyzing companies’ financial performance, operations and control framework and identifying improvement opportunities with recommendations for internal implementation to minimize risk and improve shareholders’ value
• Prepare marketing briefs and deliver marketing presentations to potential clients


Qualifications
o a top bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or accounting is required
o significant progress towards a CA or a master’s degree will be obvious advantage
o some relevant experience in accounting, corporate finance, investment, research or commercial banking is required
o Self starter, who can naturally function in any environment with minimal supervision
o excellent analytical, communication, organizational, interpersonal skills
o PC proficiency including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; knowledge of other financial modelling or statistical applications a plus
o Stay abreast of current local and international business and economic developments
