The MSH has job opening for this position to be based in Abuja to assist in planning and managing capacity building of local partners to implement the PEPFARAB prevention program in Nigeria. This activity will increase the delivery of prevention services using the minimum package to promote HIV/AIDS prevention programs and build the capacity of organizations to deliver high quality prevention programs for identified high risk populations in several sisters and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Nigeria

BEHAVIOR CHANGE COMMUNICATION (BCC) PREVENTION ADVISOR

The BCC/Prevention Advisor is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the HIV prevention activities. These interventions will address abstinence and be faithful themes, as well as Prevention for Positives, Gender, Stigma, and Discrimination Strategies. He/She will report to the Chief of Party Specifically, the BCC/Prevention Advisor will support the project as follows:

Specific Responsibilities
Oversee the coordination of, and provision of technical assistance in HIV prevention strategies and services to sub-grantees.
Identify and ensure utilization of a minimum package of interventions identified from a pool of best practices in the national prevention plan.
Ensure the mainstreaming of gender, stigma and discrimination throughout all aspects of HIV programming, including policy development, advocacy training and capacity building and community mobilization.
Facilitate the development of HIV prevention BCC action plans that operationalize a national overarching HIV prevention BCC strategy, ensuring that all strategies feed into and support national guidelines.
Oversee performance based grants with local BCC organizations, which will adapt and customize prevention materials to each LGA.
Identify barriers to program implementation and working with staff and stakeholders to address barriers and ensure program objectives are met.
Ensure strategic vision of project, and liaise with national stakeholders, state MOHs and LGAs as needed.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GON approved HIV/AIDS policies and guidance and ensure project follows best practices.

Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in Public Health or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Through knowledge and understanding of STI and HIV/AIDS
Excellent Communications skills
At least 5 years of experience in HIV/AIDs in a developing country
Demonstrated experience in community based program implementation
Knowledge expertise in gender
Demonstrated computer skills at the intermediate level in Microsoft Office Salute applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
Proficiency in English and local language.
