You don't need any formal work experience, but a company might require that you know how to install, administer, and troubleshoot operating systems in a home network environment that has desktop computers, laptops, and printers. As a consumer support technician, you'll also handle network, virus, malicious software, and hardware support issues. You'll typically find this position in small to medium-sized organizations.
