A-3 DAY TRAINING COURSE ON PIPING, FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION.

1.0 RATIONALE BEHIND THE TRAINING
This Training Course is put together to enable participants gain expertise from real-world situations that bridge theory with practical applications. It is also meant to empower fresh Engineering Graduates to get the necessary skills that will enable them to be employable. This is a fact because most of our graduates do not have the required skills to function in the global World. Not only that, participants shall have a lot of soft copies of piping documents relating to a flow station processing crude oil up to 30,000 BLPD. Some of the available documents are-
· Piping design basis.
· Pipe material specification
· General pipe specification note.
· List of specialty piping items
· Technical notes for valves.
· Codes and standards required for piping/pipelines

2.0. OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING

At the end of the training, participants should be able to-
· Develop piping layout from conceptual perspective.
· Understand piping components and access requirements
· Understand piping material & sizing, PMS / VMS
· Analyze stresses in piping.
· Understand the overview of process plant piping system design according to ASME B31.3
· Understand the condition & position of drains and vent in piping.
· Supervise Piping Spools Fabrication and Installations.

3.0. COURSE CONTENT

This training Course is centered on ASME B31.3, B16.5, ASTM A105, A106 for pipe material etc.

3.1. FUNDAMENTALS OF PIPING SYSTEM

· Conceptual layout development
· Piping components and access requirements
· Straight length requirements
· Orientation of various tapings, components etc
· Piping drains and vents
· Insulation
· Material and sizing, PMS / VMS
· Critical piping system consideration
· Pipe stress analysis

3.2. OVERVIEW OF PROCESS PLANT PIPING SYSTEM DESIGN, ASME31.3

· Piping system
· Scope of ASME B31.3
· Piping system corrosion
· Pipe fitting
· Flange attachment and facing
· Gasket
· Flange rating
· Valves
· Piping flexibility etc

3.3. PIPING AND PIPING COMPONENTS

PART 1 – PIPING: This include piping types, schedule number, length, ends, standard piping material etc

PART 2 – PIPING COMPONENTS: This include valves, elbows, Tees, reducers, pipe caps, lateral fittings, weldolets etc

PART 3 – VALVES: This include introduction, gate valve, globe valve, butterfly valve etc.

· Material selection
· Material classification
· Comparism of various standards


4.0. TRAINING STRATEGIES

This training has a lot of interactive sections. Each of the participants will be given the opportunity to reason like an Engineer. They will take part in Sample Works and contribute to general discussions.

Participants will be very free to ask questions. They will also be made to answer questions.

5.0. TRAINING DATE, DURATION AND VENUE

· DATE: 7th – 9thFebruary, 2012.
· DURATION: 3 days
· TIME: 9.00am – 5.00pm daily.
· VENUE: Warri, Delta state. The exact hotel address shall be forwarded to intending participants two weeks to the date.

· The Training fee per participant at the venue is sixty thousand naira (N60, 000) only.
· Early Registration before 30^th of January, 2012 is Fifty five thousand naira (N55,000) only.
· Group Registration before 30^th of January, 2012, is Fifty thousand naira (N50,000) only.
