ABOUT NEBOSH
The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health(NEBOSH) is an independent awarding body formed in 1979. NEBOSH qualifications are globally recognized by professional membership bodies including the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). The Examination is also taken by people working in all types of industries.

NEBOSH International General Certificate
This course has been developed for multinational organizations in all sectors working in accordance with international standards or directives but adapting to local needs. It provides organizations with a global presence seeking to adopt an internationally recognized health and safety training programme for its staff. The Certificate is an internationally recognized qualification and provides an excellent basic grounding in the essentials of health & safety for personnel accountable for these responsibilities in their organization. Successful delegates are awarded a Certificate on successful completion of two written papers: Management of Safety & Health, Controlling Hazards and a practical assessment.
WHAT DOES THE QUALIFICATION COVER?
The NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) covers the principles relating to health and safety, identification and control of workplace hazards and the practical application of this knowledge. The IGC syllabus takes a risk management approach based on best practice and international standards, such as the International Labor Organization (ILO) codes of practice. Local laws and cultural factors may form part of the study program where relevant and appropriate. The International General Certificate is also suitable for those embarking on a career in health and safety, providing a valuable foundation for further professional study. No previous health and safety knowledge is required. However it should be noted that the examination is offered, and must be answered, in English, and that the course includes a requirement to write a short report, which must also be in English. The qualification is divided into three units, each of which is assessed separately:

• Management of international health and safety (IGC1)
• Control of international workplace hazards (IGC2)
• International health and safety practical application (IGC3)

Duration: 11 Days (February 27th – March 9th, 2012)
Venue: Training Hall,Gennesaret Resources Nigeria Ltd,Izzi House Rumukwurushi,Port Harcourt.
Cost: N320,000.00 / Participant
Daily Timing: 0800 – 1700 hrs with one morning refreshment break and a lunch break.
