Objectives

Perform all R&D Laboratory bench work activities involving chemical, physical and sensory analysis of food applications whilst supporting activities around new products, line extensions and the development & maintenance of Quality and food safety management systems.


Responsibilities

Carry out all R&D lab bench work activities and functional test and analysis during new product development and improvement and rationalization of existing product
Setup trial methodology, track and monitor all shelf life and stability studies to confirm formulation, product and pack stabilities
Support internal taste and sensory evaluation sessions through preparation and administration of samples to respondents
Support development, implementation and maintenance of all internal product, raw material and ingredient technical specifications
Support development, implementation, and maintenance of ISO 9001 & 22000 Quality and food safety management systems in PNG
Ensure good housekeeping in R&D laboratory on a daily basis
Stock management of R&D sample ingredients as required

Requirements

• Education

B.sc (Minimum second class lower)/HND (Minimum lower credit) in Applied Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Sciences &Technology or any of the related biological sciences


• Experience

Minimum 1 year relevant experience

• Knowledge

Practical knowledge of New product development
Proficiency in laboratory food chemical/proximate Analysis & testing
Sensory evaluation and shelf-life studies
Technical standards and specification
Proficiency in Word & Excel
