JOB DESCRIPTION: PMTCT/Paediatric HIV Coordinator
Functional relationships
- Directly responsible to the HIV Clinical Adviser and overall to the Chief of Party
- Works in collaboration with other members of the URC Nigeria team
Job Summary
The overall function of this position is to ensure the HIV and AIDS Comprehensive Care Programme has sustainable, high quality and client focused Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission and Paediatric HIV services

Job Description
1. Clinical work
· Performing medical consultations for OI’s and Antiretroviral therapy (ARVs) for People living with HIV, HIV positive and exposed mothers and infants at URC supported health facilities
· Providing medical supervision, mentorship and on the job training for all the clinical staff at URC supported health facilities
· Ensuring that the optimal standard of care is achieved by establishing and maintaining the use of nationally approved clinical guidelines and protocols and with the help of the Clinical Adviser, updating your knowledge of HIV/AIDS management using evidence based practice
2. Systems mentorship support
· Together with the Clinical Adviser identify, assess and implement PMTCT/Paediatric HIV follow up services at selected health facilities
· Work to improve patient management through identifying and improving client flow systems, data capture, clinical management, clinical recording, referral to laboratory and pharmacy and preventing loses to follow for Pregnant women and children
· Help in capacity building facility multi-skilled HIV teams at URC supported facilities
3. Reporting and work planning
· Prepare a monthly work plan detailing proposed objectives and activities for PMTCT/Paediatric HIV at URC supported facilities
· Prepare monthly reports on the implementation of the URC PMTCT/Paediatric HIV support programme and submit and discuss this with the Clinical Adviser
4. Capacity building
· Ensure that individual, organizational, state and the national capacity to undertake PMTCT/Paediatric HIV are enhanced
· To represent the Clinical Adviser in technical working groups at state and national levels when called upon

QUALIFICATION
Candidates should have at least a MBBS, with not less than 3 years
Working experience, trainings in HIV/AIDS related services, MPH will be added advantage.
