The Nigeria Program: HIV/AIDS Comprehensive Care Initiative (HACCI) is a five year CDC-funded program under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) implemented by University Research Co. The program’s objectives include the strengthening of HIV/AIDS care and treatment services in Enugu and Ebonyi States, Nigeria, by providing quality services in ART, PMTCT, HIV C&T, laboratory infrastructure, TB/HIV integration, Basic Care and Support for People Living with HIV/AIDS and OVC. The project is based in Enugu, Nigeria and works with the public and the private sector.

The project is seeking an experienced and dedicated care and treatment coordinator to support her HIV/AIDS care and treatment program.


Responsibilities:
The care and treatment cordinator will be responsible for the following:

§ Responsible for coordinating HACCI’s care and treatment services including provision of anti retroviral therapy and care and support of people living HIV/AIDS.
§ Provide skills assessment, training, and supervision support to health care workers in supported health facilities
§ Oversee the provision of ART and care and support services in health facilities supported by HACCI
§ Responsible for ensuring that HIV care and treatment services provided in URC HACCI’s supported facilities are in line with national standards and best practices.
§ Coordinate quality improvement activities in HACCI’S care and treatment programme
§ Represent HACCI in all matters related to ART and care and support at national and sub-national levels
§ Provide clinical and systems mentorship support to facility health workers and Ministry of Health staff
§ Work closely with Ministry of Health staff to promote ownership and ensure sustainability of HIV care and treatment services.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • MB; BS (or MB; Bch) degrees with evidence of completion of national youth service or exemption from national service. A post graduate qualification in public health such as an MPH will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in provision of HIV prevention care and treatment services including ART
  • Ability to travel 75% of the time within Enugu and Ebonyi states and occasionally to Abuja and Lagos
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to work with difficult and poorly motivated health workers in public health facilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good Computer skills with a high level of comfort using Microsoft word, EXCEL and power point.
  • Ability to work under pressure and produce quality work in a timely manner.
