STUDY: Study and Courses

Typically, to be accepted onto an undergraduate course you would need to hold one of the following qualifications: West African GCE A level (up to 1989), Post-Secondary Certificate, (Ordinary) National Diploma (OND/ND), Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANTC) / Advanced National Commercial Certificate (ANCC).

Students with the University Matriculation Examination would be required to complete foundation year before undergraduate entry.

The WAEC Senior School Certificate (since 1989) is considered comparable to British GCSE Level standard, which is not enough to qualify for a foundation course unless backed up by relevant work experience.

It is a requirement that Leeds Met be able to verify your WAEC Senior School Certificate Exam results prior to considering an offer. Please send the following form along with your Senior School Certificate. We will be unable to process any applications which we cannot verify online.

Students with a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology will be considered for Level 3 or Top-ups courses.

For a postgraduate course you would typically need a Bachelor degree.

Mature students with substantial work experience are welcomed and will be considered for postgraduate or undergraduate study as appropriate.

If you would like more information, please contact the International Office. Our staff will be pleased to speak to you and will answer any questions you may have.
