The ICL Leadership Academy is a comprehensive and hands-on leadership program available to high school students around the world. The ICL Academy is open to secondary school and high school students who are currently in the 9th, 10th, or 11th standard, grade, or year.
Alcoa will reward 50 secondary and high school students in the 9th, 10th, or 11th standard, grade, or year with full scholarships to a two-week summer session (August 1st to 14th 2011). Those students will join 50 other individuals from across the world for a unique opportunity to study and learn together at Dwight International School (DIS), Vancouver Island, Canada.

The ICL Leadership Academy is a dynamic program where participants are introduced to the powerful idea that leadership is important, accessible, and something everyone can develop. Participants shift from a passive view of leadership to an engaged and dynamic symphony of possibility. Building on this capacity, participants learn 'sustainable leadership' and key skills to enable them to lead now and tomorrow.
There are three key pillars of the ICL Academy experience -Leadership, Service and Reflection. Through leadership, students will be more aware of themselves. Through service, students become more aware of others. Reflection helps the students make sense of the process of what it really means to be a leader and, in turn, how each student sees him or herself as a leader in society. Students will become more effective leaders by recognizing the impact they have on others.
