Our organization is an independent, non-partisan public policy think-tank committed to rigorous research through which public policies and processes are examined, supported and best practices disseminated. Our major research areas are political economy, health, local government issues (including social and urban policy), power, energy & infrastructure, and food & agric business

The organization seeks to appoint a Director of Research (D.O.R) as soon as possible to work closely with and report to the Board of Trustees. The D.O.R will set the research agenda for the organization and lead the research team in the creation, dissemination and utilization of high quality research.

The D.O.R will be expected to oversee: production of publications and dissemination materials or activities on research results; research tasks to locate, review and synthesize relevant material; preparation of research proposals; preparation of correspondence, reports and presentations; and exchange with other institutions working on a broad range of issues relevant to the organization’s core focus areas



THE D.O.R SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

- a postgraduate qualification (preferably PHD) in economics, development studies, or policy – related field

- respected, relevant academic research and publication record in the policy/ economics field

- experience working in a policy research organization would be an advantage;

- experience researching/working in a developing country would be an advantage;

- knowledge of French or Portuguese (would be an asset)

Compensation will be set according to the experience of the candidates. The organization wishes to appoint the qualified candidate as soon as possible.
