    Vacancies In Food Manfacturing Company

    A Nigerian Food manufacturing company wishes to engage suitably qualified persons for the following operations in our office.
    1. FOOD TECHNOLOGISTS
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    · Carrying out process support and development, new product development, and quality control;
    · Developing the ability to repeat processes to ensure consistency and safety;
    · Liaising and cooperating with technical and commercial colleagues in procurement, sales and technical services, and marketing and distribution, and also with official food inspection and hygiene agencies
    · Modifying existing products and processes and developing new ones;
    · Checking and improving quality control procedures in your own and suppliers' factories, from the raw material stage through to the finished product;
    · Researching current consumer markets and latest technologies to develop new product concepts;
    · Selecting raw materials and other ingredients from suppliers;
    · Preparing product costings based on raw materials and manufacturing costs to ensure profitable products;
    · Addressing issues of safety and quality;
    · Other related tasks

    Required Skills & Academic Qualifications
    · The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Second class lower (2:2) in Food science, Biochemistry or a related discipline.
    · Must have exceptional analytical and observation skills to identify unique biochemical reaction to specific drug formulation
    · Must have a good foundation in statistical laboratory testing methodologies
    · Must be willing to work long hours even under extreme work pressures
    · Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills




    2. BIOCHEMISTS
    The Biochemist would work hand in hand with the food technologist and microbiologists to develop the formulation of our products, performing intensive research, design, extraction and synthesis.
    Duties and Responsibilities
    · Quality control in manufacturing processes, e.g. checking for signs of contamination
    · Observing, monitoring and identifying microorganisms;
    · Tracking of microorganisms in a range of environments;
    · Monitoring and assessing samples from a range of sources;
    · Using a variety of identification methods, including molecular techniques, to test samples;
    · Developing new techniques, products and processes;
    · Developing and planning methods to prevent the spread of disease;
    · Developing and registering new medicines, vaccines, diagnostic tests and pharmaceutical products;
    · Planning, implementing and evaluating new products in clinical trials;
    · Developing products, such as enzymes, vitamins, hormones, and antimicrobials;
    · Growing microbial cultures, e.g. for use in the food and beverage industry or in agriculture;
    · Working with specialist computer software to undertake studies and research;
    · Managing and overseeing laboratory work.
    · Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
    · Writing up research findings and producing reports
    · Keeping up with new research in food manufacturing
    · Liaising with colleagues from non-scientific departments

    Required Skills and Academic Qualifications
    · Must possess at least a 2:2 (Second class lower) in one of the following courses: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Physics or equivalent courses
    · Must possess exceptional analytical and observation skills to identify unique biochemical reaction to products
    · Must have a good foundation in statistical laboratory testing methodologies
    · Must be willing to work long hours even under extreme work pressures
    · Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills



    3. BLOW MOULD OPERATORS
    We require experienced mold operators to set up, operate and tend our coremaking machines to mold or cast metal or thermoplastic parts or products.
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    · Set up, operate, and observe continuous operation of machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
    · Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
    · Position and secure work pieces on machines, and start feeding mechanisms.
    · Turn valves and dials of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times.
    · Perform maintenance work such as cleaning and oiling machines, trimming excess material from parts, using knives, and grind scrap plastic into powder for reuse.
    · Observe meters and gauges to verify and record temperatures, pressures, and press-cycle times.
    · Other related activities
    Required Skills and Academic Qualifications
    · Must possess at least an Ordinary National Diploma in a Mechanical Engineering
    · Must be very observant
    · Must possess the ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
    · Must be able to see details at close range within a few feet of the observer.
    · The Molding Machine Operator needs the ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
    · Must have the ability to use his abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
    · Must have the ability to time his movements or the movements of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene.
    · Must be willing to work long hours even under extreme work pressures
    · Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills





    4. MARKETERS
    We require aggressive, driven and motivated individuals to join our sales and marketing team.
    Key Responsibilities
    · Put in sustained efforts to attract potential buyers for the products.
    · Gain complete information about the products by attending sales training programs organized by the firm, by reading about the product and knowing everything possible about the product
    · Customers are the kings and hence salespersons must have strong interpersonal skills to retain clients and engage them in rich conversation.
    · Sharp negotiation skills are a prominent and most important aspect of a sales job. A salesperson must have effective sales negotiation skills and techniques to impress the clients.
    · Perform quality checks on products and monitor delivery of products to desired destinations.
    · Develop sales proposal so that products sales can be increased.
    · Maintain excellent customer service skills so that no customer remains dissatisfied with the product.
    · Keep an eye on competitors in the market and changing trend of sales in the market.

    Required Skills and Academic Qualifications
    · Must possess at least a 2:2 (Second class lower) in a social sciences course
    · Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
    · Aggressive, motivated, unrelenting
    · Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Pls,which is advisable for a graduate of microbiology to apply for? Especially one that has a foundation in quality control and analytical laboratory. Is it food technologist or biochemist?

    @CAGO,it looks real. My advice is, apply first. If ure asked 4 money, dont pay a dime. Always try to apply first cos u may miss an opportunity. Just dnt pay a kobo 4 any job.
