JOB TITLE: APPLICATION SUPPORT ANALYST CODE: ASA-11-11
  1. PURPOSE OF JOB
To provide operational and technical support to the users of business applications to ensure that the business benefits of applications continue to be achieved throughout their lifetime.

2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

(a) To specify, implement, install and configure the company’s business applications to ensure that the product meets the needs of the service area, liaising with project managers and suppliers where necessary.
(b) To provide ongoing technical maintenance and usage support of the company’s business applications in order to maintain their reliability and business benefits.
(c) To analyse, define and implement interfaces between business applications to provide integrated solutions.
(d) To provide additional functionality to the business by using the appropriate tool sets to enhance third party applications and develop reports, workflows, web pages and forms and/or new small applications, to maximize the company’s ROI, ensure the efficiency of service and provide enhanced services to its clients.
(e) To understand the security threats posed to applications which are accessible via the internet, devising and implementing security measures to ensure the integrity of transactions and the confidentiality of data.
(f) To provide documentation - Software user manuals, Service Level Requirement (SLR).

3. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • A degree in a computing subject
  • Experience of working in applications support
  • A logical and systematic approach to problem resolution across a broad spectrum of technologies
  • Experience of MS SQL Server in a working environment, including sound knowledge of constructing complex SQL queries
  • Practical knowledge of the Windows desktop environment
  • Minimum 3yrs Experience of supporting business applications
  • A sound knowledge of Internet technologies and an understanding of Internet security
  • Experience of using Crystal Reports
  • Experience of developing VB.Net web applications
  • Experience of Web Services development
  • Experience of using XML
4. Must Have

  • The ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical language to users
  • Be able to pick up and interpret technical information quickly.
  • Be able to work under pressure Be able to work as part of a team, including the ability to develop new working relationships, share knowledge and work with colleagues within the team to meet service standards.
  • Be able to manage your own workload while working on multiple projects with multiple priorities where priorities and circumstances often change.

  1. Prepare or edit organizational publications for internal and external audiences, including
  1. Employee newsletters
  2. Corporate profiles
  3. Annual accounts and
  4. Marketing materials.
  1. Work with Brand manager to respond to requests for information from the media or designate another appropriate spokesperson or information source
  2. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumer, employee, and public interest groups.
  3. Assist with development of marketing aids (presentations, proposals, and other marketing kits - online videos) – Including Graphic Design involved
  4. Work with brand manager to coordinate production of advertisements and promotions.
  5. Arrange public appearances, lectures, contests, or exhibitions s to increase product and service awareness and to promote goodwill.
  6. Create and update daily, weekly and monthly reports

Skills:
- Very good writing (creative / media), editing and proofreading skills
- Must be patient, detailed and thorough
- Good verbal Communication skills
- Flexibility, creativity, project and time management skills, business savvy
- Media Experience working with newspaper house or agency and an in-depth understanding of how the Nigerian media works is an added advantage
- Excellent customer service and willingness to go the extra mile

Qualification & Experience:
- Bsc Mass communication, English or equivalent
- At least 3 years relevant practical work experience
- Age, Not more than 35 years old.
