Empowerment Program Manager

Position Summary:
The Empowerment Program Manager will be saddled with the task of developing and managing the processes and procedures needed for a growing NGO that works with a wide range of economically disadvantaged individuals. It is important to be able to work efficiently and productively in a fast paced environment. The ability to prioritize competing demands while working effectively and resolving problems is essential to this role.
Position Description:
? Liaise with Freedom Life Center Leaders and Foundation Program Manager to assess the current needs within a growing pool for potential candidates who require some form of economic empowerment.
? Interface with General Manager of KSF Microfinance Bank to determine guidelines on issuing and monitoring microfinance loans to our population of candidates.
? Develop a comprehensive empowerment plan, working with all relevant consultants and advisors to a stage where the plan can be presented for approval and implementation.
? Drive the empowerment plan through its implementation stage to ensure all milestones are achieved.
? Working closely with the Empowerment Board for support and collaboration.
? Develop and monitor various empowerment initiatives targeted at special segments of the population (i.e. handicapped, area boys, recovering drug addicts, prostitutes, etc)
? Represent the Empowerment Unit of the Foundation to the public and our corporate partners.
? Submit monthly reports to the Executive Director with status updates on all projects.
? Work with the Empowerment Board to develop the annual budget and develop fundraising strategies to meet the budget requirements.
Qualifications:
The successful candidates will posses a degree in Business Administration, Management or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience. A working knowledge of empowerment strategies used to work with the economically disadvantaged person as well as a high level of integrity is a must. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills are essential. The successful candidate must have excellent organizational skills and possess the ability to work in a team environment. Expertise in Microsoft outlook, Excel and Word is required. Experience in using Microsoft Access is a plus.
