JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER
JOB OBJECTIVE
• To achieve ground support equipment availability in all stations of at least 95%
• To manage stock inventory: reduce value with 25% per annum
• To identify and address maintenance staff training needs, to ensure better skills
Acquisition
• To control and minimize costs incurred by suppliers and contractors
Duties & Responsibilities
• Coordinates all the activities of the unit
• Develops and reviews codes and standard operating practices for maintenance
functions as well as for equipment repairs and handling
• Formulates appropriate preventive maintenance strategies to ensure 90% equipment availability.
• Manages the material, financial and human resources of the maintenance unit
• Provides advice on GSE purchase to ensure right equipment is purchased.
• Monitors job execution and performance standards
• Manages staff performance, including rewards and promotions
• Holds periodic meeting with maintenance staff.
• Ensures compliance with safety rules and standard operating procedures
• Manages incidents/accidents in the maintenance unit.
• Plans job, monitors effective performance
• Makes recommendations on employment of maintenance staff
• Provide weekly availability, deployment and serviceability of all equipment companywide to management.
• Manages staff training by collating staff training needs and ensuring training needs are met.
Job Requirements
Education
First degree or its equivalent in Engineering sciences with GSE maintenance Training.
Experience
8 years experience in engineering functions, with at least 3 years in a management position, preferably in the aviation industry
