Summary
Human Resources Intern will observe and learn the basic HR functions by receiving practical training from the HR Generalist, Senior HR Generalist, and HR Director. The HR Intern will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about the role of the HR professional within the non profit and social community environment. The individual will also provide support for various HR functions, including but not limited to the following:


Duties
New Hire Orientation:

  • Assemble new hire orientation binders
  • Assemble personnel and benefits files (and maintain these files, and keep them up to date)
  • File paperwork into confidential personnel and l benefits files
  • Work with hiring managers and HR to create ‘welcome’ email announcements for new hires
  • Enter data into spreadsheets or databases
  • Makes copies of HR paperwork as needed
  • Participate in HR team and all staff meetings


Other:

  • Perform Special HR Projects and other duties as assigned




Qualification
Education:


  • Pursuing a BA/BS degree with a focus in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Social Sciences.




Experience:

  • At least one year working in an office environment experience desired
  • Basic research
  • Typing at least 30 wpm.
  • Knowledge and Abilities




Knowledge:

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Email and phone etiquette




Abilities:

  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff utilizing excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Superior organizational skills; results-focus with superb execution and follow-through; highly detail-oriented
  • Efficient, highly productive multitasking; self-motivated and flexible; thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Motivated to learn
