EngenderHealth Nigeria is seeking expressions of interest from highly qualified Nigerian nationals to staff an anticipated USAID-funded Family Planning/Reproductive Health (FP/RH) project which will aim to increase use of quality FP/RH services, including the informed and voluntary use of long acting and permanent methods (LA/PMs) in Nigeria. Although EngenderHealth currently maintains an office in Abuja, the location(s) of the positions for the new project will be determined based on the final design of the project.
Abuja based positions include: Project Director, Technical Director, Financial Manager, Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor, Advocacy Advisor and Training Coordinator.
The Project Director must possess an advanced degree(s) or a related advanced degree in public health, medical or social sciences, health systems, international development and extensive management experience, with at least 10 years of work experience in providing technical, management and administrative leadership interacting with government at federal and state levels, international and national NGOs and international donor agencies. Experience of managing USAID funded health projects preferred. S/he must demonstrate strong expertise and experience in health systems strengthening and capacity building in the areas of FP/RH and LAPM.. Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
The Technical Director will provide strategic technical guidance to the Project Director. S/he must possess an advanced degree in public health, medicine or a related field, advanced certification in family planning; strong technical and programmatic knowledge and experience in clinic-based FP services, client-provider interaction, training and quality improvement. S/he must have at least 10 years of experience in designing and implementing RH/FP activities. Fluency in spoken and written English is required
The Finance Manager must possess a university degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in financial management or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience as a senior financial manager. Additional professional qualifications in accountancy or other relevant disciplines are an asset. S/he must have experience of working in a non-profit organization, private company or donor agency with grant reporting and management responsibilities. Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
The Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor must possess an advanced degree in public health, demography, sociology, psychology, biostatics or a related field; and an excellent understanding of the Nigerian government’s health management information systems. S/he must have at least 5 years of experience supervising monitoring & evidence-based FP/RH interventions; demonstrated analytical skills and proven track record in monitoring and evaluating health projects. Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
The Advocacy Advisor must possess a Master’s degree in Public health or related field; at least 10 years of experience in designing and implementing policy advocacy strategies and activities in Nigeria. S/he must have a sound understanding of policy environment, including barriers that limit increased use of long acting methods of contraception, comprehensive knowledge of family planning and reproductive health. A clear understanding of the relationships between the Federal and State Ministries of health and task shifting as well as cultural interplay in Nigeria is essential. Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
The Training Coordinator must possess a Medical degree, nursing degree or a Master’s degree in Public Health, and demonstrated technical expertise in curriculum development, training and capacity building, including needs assessment.. S/he must have experience of training trainers’ and training health workers as well as working with public hospitals and PHC Centres to develop and improve RH services. At least 5 years’ experience in training with government and/or an international or national NGO is required. Fluency in spoken and written English is required
