JOB DESCRIPTION

Job title: GM - Sales & Marketing

Reports to: Managing director

Location: 3, Maitama Street, Ikoyi, Lagos

Salary: NGN N1,440,000 – N1,800,000 P/A

Age: between 28-33yrs



Overall Responsibilities:

· To successfully manage the sales and marketing team to maximise all revenue generating opportunities and achieve set sales targets.

· To grow the company’s base of customers and intermediaries and manage these relationships to maximise lifetime value.

· To ensure the sales and marketing team maintain a high level of customer service which exceeds customers’ expectations.



Main duties:

1. To contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic sales and marketing plan in liaison with the Managing director and Sales & Marketing team.

2. To take overall responsibility for the operational sales and marketing plan, including developing action plans and sales targets to achieve the objectives set.

3. To manage the sales and marketing budget in line with the company’s’ financial regulations.

4. To be responsible for new product development in liaison with the Managing director.

5. To ensure the sales and marketing team have a thorough knowledge of the product offer and pricing structure to enable effective promotion.

6. To carry out a programme of targeted telemarketing calls to qualify business decision makers and business potential, with the objective of making appointments for either decision makers to visit the venue or for self to visit potential customer.

7. To lead on the development of new key accounts, including identifying potential corporate customers through research, implementing plans to target businesses, and developing effective relationships.

8. To produce proposals, quotes and contracts.

9. To develop and implement customer service standards to ensure that all leads and enquiries are followed up by the team in a timely manner.

10. To maximise the potential from existing corporate customers and intermediaries through effective account management.

11. To manage a database of potential and existing customers by creating accurate records and an effective follow up system.

12. To lead in the distribution, collection and analysis of customer satisfaction questionnaires, surveys and general feedback.

13. To keep abreast of industry and consumer trends, and ensure competitor activity is closely monitored and reported on.

14. To identify and exploit all local marketing, sales and PR opportunities, including cross-selling to assist with company revenue maximisation.

15. To report weekly and monthly on sales forecasts, recent activities and results against targets.

16. To regularly review sales forecasts, identifying low periods and implementing creative solutions.

17. To identify and organise representation at external trade shows and networking events.

18. To manage a team of sales and marketing staff in line with company’s policies and procedures, including undertaking appraisals, setting personal objectives and having regular one-to-one meetings to review performance.

19. To ensure effective liaison with the Operations Team, Accountant, Sales Team and HR Manager in a timely fashion prior to, during and after events taking place, to ensure that customer needs can be met, excellent operational delivery is possible, problems are resolved swiftly and prompt payment is made.

20. To ensure that all health, safety and security regulations are adhered to at all times.

21. To consistently promote and champion a customer focussed philosophy and reflect the organisation’s values.

22. To undertake any other duties as appropriate assigned by the Managing Director, or Directors of the company.



Qualifications



Essential

Qualifications/ Training

· Educated to degree-level (or substantial experience in a sales and/or marketing role).

· Relevant masters degree desirable

· Evidence of continued professional development

Knowledge/ Experience

· Recent successful experience of working in sales for at least 3years and/or marketing role and growing business.

· Knowledge of the Mobile marketing and new media market trends, associations and competition.

· Proven track record of meeting challenging targets.

· Recent experience of selling to businesses face to face.

· Demonstrable experience of working in a customer focused environment and exceeding customer expectations.

· Demonstrable experience of managing and retaining business accounts.

· Proven track record of successful team leadership and performance management to achieve targets.

· Knowledge and understanding of financial management and budgeting processes.

· Experience with Media , campaign and advertising agencies

Skills/ Abilities

· Excellent IT skills, including experience of managing customer accounts, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

· A high level of English.

· Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.

· Good organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

· Ability to identify and convert business leads and opportunities into sales.
