HOW GENERATORS WORK


First, Let us take a look at the working mechanism of the normal generators you know (that is generators that use fuel) to see how they are able to supply electricity with the help of fuel (petrol or diesel). In general, GENERATOR consists of two basic parts. The part that required fuel, this part is called the piston, and the part that doesn’t need fuel, this part is called the alternator. Both the piston and the alternator work together with the help of fuel as a driven mechanism for electricity to be produced. The process is this: The basic function of the piston is to roll (or rotate) the alternator, hence the production of electricity. However, before the piston can rotate the alternator, it needs fuel. It is the Fuel in the piston that pressurized it (the piston) to forcefully go up and down which empowered it (the piston) to roll the coils of the alternator, hence the production of electricity. This is an easy way to explain the working mechanism (in a lame man’s way) the way our fueled-generators operate.
