Reports To - Head, Operations


Job Summary:

  • Responsible for generating a volume of product listings per month whilst ensuring there is a high standard for the on site content and the processes behind it.
  • To drive online revenues, in line with the annual business
  • Plan, by maximising the conversion of online visits into profitable sales and by optimising cross sell focusing predominantly on four key areas: content, promotions,
  • campaign and site optimisation.




Principal Duties and Responsibilities;


  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of online content development, including conceptualization, documentation, design and deployment.
  • Ensure monthly targets are met for new product listings
  • Develop efficient systems and processes both in-house and with agencies to ensure listed product numbers are increased
  • Work with category managers to ensure products have a high quality of information, targeted at the right audience
  • Manage and motivate a large team of editors and producers
  • Ensure consistency for graphic design tasks and web page improvements, focusing on changes which will improve user experience and increase conversion rates
  • Oversee the production of new online stores
  • Manage the development and creation of non-product listing content including buying guides and editorial content
  • Work with Content Team to suggest and develop graphics and content to maximize the customer experience and generate conversion.
  • Ensure quality of content by maintaining, reviewing and approving content for website display.
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with the Buying team and ensure constant communication in relation to workflow status
  • Liaising with the Merchandising team to ensure constant awareness of best-selling brands/product categories.
  • Track and monitor workflow, maintaining a quality control process to ensure all categories are represented within guidelines and with maximum effect.
  • Manage, develop and appraise direct reports, using a clear set of responsibilities and KPI's
  • Perform other duties assigned by the unit head




Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or other related field
  • MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years experience in content production/e-commerce marketing role is required.
  • Knowledge of large-scale Web Technology/e-Commerce platforms and content management systems desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, Photoshop is required.
  • Significant experience in a content and web production leadership position, ideally at an online retailer
  • Excellent team leadership skills
  • Experience managing third-party content producers
  • Advanced excel skills, preferably for the use of bulk content upload processes
  • A track record of developing and improving processes
  • Experience with using Content Management Systems
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and conflict resolution with an emphasis on customer service is required
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in managing technology and operational projects are required.
