The Purpose of the Business Analyst is to review business processes in order to gain a complete understanding of current procedures, identify improvements, document those processes, and connect business people to information technology groups in an organization

Description: The business analyst is responsible for analysing and modelling existing business processes. The goal of business process analysis is to understand and document current business procedures and identify areas for improvement. A thorough understanding of the current state of the organization is necessary prior to recommending changes related to implementing a new business solution.

The business analyst uses modelling tools to document the current state of business processes as well as the desired future state. The business analyst is responsible for the knowledge transfer of business implications to the application/database developers and project managers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provides analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases and data interpretation.

Operating and business model analysis—defining and analysing the organization's policies and market business approaches

Define and apply a structured process management approach and methodology to build andmonitor the company’s processes and procedures.

Analyse all procedures, processes, and team oriented tasks to reduce redundancy, build efficiency,and ultimately increase productivity of the company’s staff.

Implement and enforce astructured process management approach and methodology to build and monitor the company’s processes and proceduresunder the guidance of the current direct manager.

Simulate and test process improvementswhere appropriate

Communicate change and provide training to impacted business units

Challenge and brainstorm with management to continuously evaluate their team’s procedures andprocesses to eliminate inefficiencies.

Conductall auditing effortsfor the company’s processes, procedures, and internal documentation.

Performs feasibility analysis, scopes projects, and works with the project management team to prioritizes deliverables, and negotiate on product functionalities.

Creates detailed Business Requirement Document (BRD) and translate it into functional specifications.
Partners with development and analytic teams to provide reporting on software solutions.

Acts as the Strategic Planner—identifying and analysing the organization's strategic business needs
Other duties may be assigned.

Skills and prerequisite required:

A Degree + minimum of 3years equivalent experience is required (food industry will be an added advantage)
IT related field preferred
