Cogniko is seeking a talented Associate Director of Marketing Analytics and Research in its Lagos, Nigeria office. The desired candidate must be articulate, analytical, organized, and very confident.
The ideal candidate will play a key leadership role for our Marketing Analytics and Research practices. The candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive analysis-based consulting services, leading the planning and implementation of primary research efforts, conducting quantitative and qualitative market analyses, managing our proprietary panel and survey instruments, pitching our analytics and research services, and generating superior insights and reports for our online research library.

Responsibilities and Skills



    • Lead strategic relationships with clients and acts as main contact for Cogniko’s analytics and research activities
    • Interact with marketing and planning leaders and business partners in developing, analyzing and reporting on customer/consumer performance trends, multi-channel marketing efforts, direct to consumer marketing activities as well as campaign analytics and optimization
    • Develop marketing and direct marketing test plans (sampling, test/control design) and reporting solutions
    • Establish and grow the Research and Intelligence practice as a profit center
    • Represent Cogniko at key social and industry events, or strategy and planning sessions, and expressing a strong, data-based point of view
    • Lead the cultivation and accumulation of knowledge and research repository of insights, opinions and perspectives, consumer behavior, market benchmarks, media usage and investments trends, and other intelligence outputs in the Cogniko Library
    • Manage Cogniko’s research and intelligence resources including FIELDPANELSTM panel and the ACTIVEPULSETM survey tool
    • Lead fieldwork strategy from marketing research project commissioning stage through final data delivery
    • Ensuring the superior quality of all research outputs, interpreting data, writing reports, and making actionable recommendation
    • Work with Cogniko principals in crafting the analytics and research direction for Cogniko
    • Supervise and motivate analytics and research analyst and consultants


Qualifications and Desired Capabilities



    • 5 years of experience in market, research, analytics, marketing, and online panel management
    • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to establish and sustain relationships with all levels internally and externally
    • Superior analytical ability, critical thinking, and proactive problem solving
    • Solid grasp of methodologies of audience measurement and panel management
    • Proficiency with leading research tools and providers including eMarketer, Euromonitor, Zitter comScore, Nielsen, Nielsen Online, Quantcast, Visible Measures and Hitwise,
    • Comfort in working with highly intense, intellectually stimulating, and high expectations work environment
    • Exceptional skills utilizing Excel, PowerPoint, and SPSS/SAS
    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Bachelors or advanced degree in Market Research, Psychology or Sociology, Economics, Business Administration or related field (preferably 2:1 or First class).
    • Some experience leading a small team, being able to develop and mentor direct reports
    • Familiarity with latest developments in digital platforms such as web, social media and mobile technology a plus
