Written Interview & Aptitude Test

Could some please tell me the difference between a written interview and an aptitude test as they concern oil services companies? I am not sure of what they exactly entail. Sorry, that I sound naïve.

well an interview is usually oral, and aptitude test is usually written.
But some companies just want to keep guys on standby so they give u a test and call 4 an interview and dats dat! u dont hear from them till dey need workers, then they call 4 another interview, its very bad...
wat can u do huh?
