Topic: WHY DO IGBO IN YORUBA LAND HATE TO GIVE THEIR DAUGHTER TO YORUBAS

SOME YOURBA PEOPLE ARE NICE,BUT UNFORTUNATELY I'VE ONLY MET THOSE DAT ARENT TRUST WORTHY AND MY CHILDERN WOULD NEVER MARRY A YORUBA PERSON,THEY CAN MARRY FROM THE NORTH(HAUSA) BUT FOR YORUBA...LIE-LIE.

we all have our reasons, God created each and everyone of us in His own image and likeness so whether igbo, hausa, yoruba or whatever, we should put culture aside and let love reign.thanks

We can debate on this topic forever, we must understand that Nigeria is made up of different nations so don't expect all things to go so well when it comes to intertribal marriege. Im from the east, born in the north and grew up in lagos, with this coupled with my travelling experiences, I know that there is no love lust among the dirfferent ethnics that makes up Nigeria, so we should not expect it to be different when it comes to marriage issues. From my experience, I believe that an Igbo man would be willing to give his daughter's hands in marrieage to other tribes than the other tribes would be willing to do , infact the Yorubas discriminate the most, the Hausas considers their religion first.

honestly, i concur with u floxxy007. i have a friend, when their sister was about to be married, they are yoruba and the guy marrying the sister is igbo.do u know that despite the fact that the guy grew up in ibadan and speaks yoruba like no man business, it was hell for him. the dad was mad but eventually God prevailed and they are happily married now. i think yorubas will easily allow their children marry anoda tribe if the person in question understands their language and culture. meanwhile, i still say whether culture or not, let love prevail.lets live a life of love.
