    WHAT ARE THE RIGHT THINGS DO TO BE ABLE TO GET A JOB EARLY???

    I am a Chemical Engineering student who is graduating in about two months time with a good degree class. I am also a novice to the job and recruitment environment within the country.

    I want to be able to do the right things that are needed for me to secure a very good job with an attractive renumeration package and an opportunity to build a reputable career. The jobs i am interested in are mainly those in the Oil and Gas industry, Process and Manufacturing Industry, Chemical Industry, Engineering Firms, Engineering Design Companies, and any others that find application to my field.

    Your help will go a long way in guiding me in my decision making process and in the actions i will eventually have to take to secure a very befitting job.

    As u graduate, go and develop yourself further so as to have an edge, else. . .u wld join the long queue and wait for years.

    1. As a Chem Engr, go and get acquainted with Autocad, HYSYS, etc. U could also get acquainted with Primavera, PDMS etc
    2. Go and get ur certifications in safety (NISP), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), etc
    3. Read alot of GMAT, current affairs and other stuff
    4. Read ur school books (dont ever think that reading ends with graduation)
    5. Know as many people as possible and dont ever assume any 'connection' to be useless
    6. Stay glued to NAIJAHOTJOBS.com
    7. etc
