Registration is now being accepted for the 30th World Youth Day (WYD)

About The Event
World Youth Day (WYD) is more than just a meeting to which millions of young people flock. WYD is a testimony of a living Church that is continually being renewed. Youths are the main players in this meeting of faith, hope and unity. The main goal of WYD is to inspire young people with Christ’s message. It is also true that, through them, the young ‘face’ of Jesus is shown to the world.

The World Youth Day, held annually in the dioceses of the world, provides every 2 or 3 years an international meeting of young people with the Pope, which lasts about a week. The latest edition of the International Youth Day was held in August 2011, in Madrid, Spain, and brought together more than 190 countries.
Come and be part of this ‘faith adventure’ together with millions of young people from all over the world. Rio de Janeiro awaits you with open arms. WYD is already part of your life, you don´t want to miss it. Join other young people from around the world for the experience of a lifetime!

PILGRIMS TO GET BRAZILIAN VISA EXEMPTIONS

Pilgrims, volunteers and journalists who have confirmed a connection with World Youth Day and who have also received a document signed by the WYD’s Local Organizing Committee will be exempted from application fees for entrance visas to Brazil.
The pilgrims who arrive in Rio for WYD and fulfil the procedural requirements will be permitted to remain in Brazil for a maximum of 90 days, and will be able to enter the country through July 28th of 2013.
Visas will be submitted by the Foreign Ministry through Diplomatic missions, Consular bureaus, Vice-Consulates or, when allowed, by the State’s Secretariat of Foreign Ministry.
