Osama bin Laden dead: US teacher shaves for first time since 2001

A middle schoolteacher, Gary Weddle, vowed after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, that he would not shave his beard until Osama Bin Laden was caught. Gary Weddle kept his word on Sunday evening (1st May).
Weddle is a teacher who lives in Ephrata, Pennsylvania USA. After the 9/11 attack Weddle said he was so absorbed in the news that he neglected to shave. A week later he decided not to shave until Bin laden was captured or proven dead. He thought it would be just a month or two but months grew to years.
The long grey hair made him look like Osama Bin Laden, that he wanted to cut the beards, but he said when he looked at his beards it reminded of the lives that were lost and the lives that were affected after that tragic day. So he kept on going.
When Weddle had the news of the death of Osama he said he spent the first five minutes crying, couldn’t even get up fast enough. He was 40 years when he took this vow, today he is 50.
