Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
This is a good step by government, it will definitely go a long way in reducing the unemployment rate in the nation. I hope they won't politicise the exercise.
This post is as sweet as your name. Good job

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
I dont mean to be a pervasive sceptic but; All that Glitters may not be gold o! sure we've all heard that. Remember Universal Telecom? Same Guardian,Same Short Code,Same 100 naira. So whats d difference this time? (A)associated with the FG-how come dey suddenly care? (B)Linked 2 some other site-Ever heard of ? They have one of d tightest sites, u'll fall in luv as soon as u enter but they're big time scammers! So wats d big deal? Fone memory is almost full so I'll & Continue.
-
Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
My last post was distorted for reasons i dont know, but d site i was refering in (B) is job link nigeria. And wats that shit abt SPAM! i certainly didnt type that. So as I was saying.(C)If this is the FG caring 4 its citizens y isnt d announcement on the FG propaganda machine (NTA) ?Y just guardian (D) Kudos 4 disclosing d amt but I'm sure leaving out the amt dis time after d universal telecom xperience wld have given d scam(?) away.Oops out of fone memory again
-
Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
CONTD; Seems like admin disabled d name of dat site in (B) So i cant seem 2 it let me try dis, remove d &s and u'll have it job &Link&. OK (D)"Early registration advised" Or what? Perharps its quick b4 d games up (E)Well composed advert right? didnt Chinua Achebe quote Ananse d bird as saying "Since men have learnt 2 shoot witout missing,I too have learnt 2 fly without perching" They've simply upped the game since jobseekers are now so good in sniffin out scams.
-
Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
There universal come again, am sorry to say this, Guardian news papers is in partnership with this mess and not the federal government. The federal Government will never ask her youth to send an sms to a short code I caan be sure of this.
Job seekers save even your one naira from going into their account, I mean scammers. Your experience with universal is not enof? once stricken, be wise not twice but always wise. If Guardian management dont scrutinize properly the adverts placed on natonal papers of theirs, they will soon be closed down.
-
Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
CONTD' Finally let me add dat my views r conjectures and is not a solicitation 2 apply or not. I probably will apply bcos; 1) 100naira wont add or deduct anything from my life, 2)I wld have contributed my quota in feeding a hungry Nigerian scammer(Am i not generous?), 3)And Who knows it could be real! But whatever it is make nobody think say we b mugu. VICTORIA ASCERTA.dat means "victory is certain" in case una skool no get ALUTA for una syllabus.1Luv
-
Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
Has anybody heard of NET before?
If they realy want to hel, they ought not to deduct the N100.
It could of a modernized scam..................
Watch out before we start sending the sms

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
Uhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! u will be posted to do intership in those participating companies, ahhhhhh Niga what are the names and industry of those participating companies? how do u think that Federal Government will do this if not that some wicked and hungry nigerians still want to dupe the massess from the little they have, I think u have all contributed very well may the Lord help us. I we wish as many who want to do it good luck.

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
@jwesley. I don't even know whether to laugh, to cry or to get angry at your funny but insightful comments. All the same, I think you have a point because I was also applied to Universal Telecoms(I never heard anything from them) but it's a worth a try because there is no use being unnecessarily pessimistic and cynical. I believe in these hard times that jobs are really scarce, spending N100 on an sms is worth the risk. It might pay off handsomely. Besides both the advert placement and the website look genuine enough. Thanks for the critical analysis

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment

So no nite call today?LOL. @Sweetie (i refuse 2 call u any other name) there's no such thing as 'looks genuine' Even NAFDAC cant tell d difference b/w Real or fake ampiclox from d pack.Give me Photoshop and i'll Turn Yaradua 2 Obama! You are doing great jare.Must we sacrifice N100 order to be given an unknown job.Poeple shuold take cognizance look at their website and see that they are not 100% real.Federal govt no send them any message. They are just using guardian to make theselve popular.
Ithink Guardian should scrutinize job adverts very well, otherwise we will sue them to court for breach of duty of care

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
All I'm saying is that you guyz shouldn't be too cynical. After all even for NYSC registration, one has to buy 250 naira scratch card to register online, and that money is definitely going straight to the Federal Government, same goes for checking WAEC or NECO result online, so spending 100naira on an sms isn't that bad. If you apply and there are some funny demands for you to pay any amount of money, you can discontinue the registration. It's very optional, if you are skeptical, you really don't have to apply. Cheers

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
@jwesley: I think there is something called logic. To say the least, your contribution to this thread is bereaved of logic and lacks coherence. You may know a few words in the English language but you lack the capacity to weave them in a manner that makes sense. Could that be because your thought too are without pattern and jaded? That would simply make you compare to a man with brushes and paints but who does not know how to paint a portrait. If you think you are not "pervasively skeptical", why reel out these perceived inconsistencies just to give a bad impression of an innocent and honest advert? Does the fact that the Universal Telecoms advert turned out to be a fiasco imply that ALL adverts are scams? And if your intention is not to dissuade people from applying so you stand a better chance, why do you apply just on the heels of your sermon of faithlessness. Sometimes it is wiser to be silent than expose ignorance and badblood in a forum where people deserve better.
@ Oyio: The Guardian is a publishing house and is not under any obligation to investigate advert claims made by advertizers. The situation can be compared to the role of a microphone, it merely echos what the speaker has to say. It does not validate the claims of the speaker or querry his intent. That is the purpose of the Guardian when it comes to adverts. They may verify other issues but not necessarily adverts. We are in the era freedom of expression and so people are FREE to say what they want provided it does not amount to a direct violation of statutes or constitutional requirements or a breach of people/someones right. Indeed it will be unethical for them to refuse publishing and advert because "they feel" its a scam. Its YOUR DUTY to verify adverts as to its authenticity and decide for yourself wether to apply on not. And not try to decide for others on whether they should apply or not. THAT IS AN INFRINGEMENT ON PEOPLE'S RIGHT TO CHOOSE!!!

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
This same thing happened to me with Spring bank and i missed out. i am done listening to pessimists. their website is Genuine and they have valid office adresses. Universal telecom never had these. i am sure the 100 naira is to ensure that only serious people apply. PEOPLE STOP DOUBTING AND START BELEIVING.

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
@ Screensaver
I've been around forums enuff 2 recognize guys like u that reduce honest discussion forums to an avenue 4 personal attacks and I'm sick of your kind but refuse to get drawn to your Namecalling cos those that log in 2 read enlightened opinions deserve better. But I'd be damned not to respond 2 your vituperations.
U ramble about logic but its the very thing u lack, b4 my comments, all d preceding comments were in favour of the advert and all I simply did was present d other side of the coin simply cos that was all that was left 2 do, so y accuse me of reeling out 'perceived inconsistencies'? And did u describe it as an innocent and honest advert? Whats d basis 4 your total belief and conclusion? at least I gave reasons 4 my Scepticism, where r yours, Mr Logic? Abt d reference to Universal telecom, U obviously gave your brain a break while reading thru my posts otherwise u would've noticed I avoided calling d advert a SCAM, but only drew inference from it.So whats d basis 4 your Conclusion?
Did u say my intention is to dissuade people so I can stand a better chance? Phew.. what a Cynically sadistic thought! Between me and U, I relish intellectual challenges anyday n anytime so BRING IT ON. I stated from the outset that "I would PROBABLY apply" regardless of my doubts so y wont anyone apply cos of what I said? With all due respect, any graduate dat takes decisions without independently weighing both sides ought 2 still be in skool and obviously thats where u belong.
And 2 my favorite, Did u say I know a few words of English? but yet u described my comments as "Bereaved"? CHAi!! , I believe d word u were searching for is 'Bereft' Mr Halfbaked Wannabe!
In conclusion, my logic is clear and Coherence, I believe is subjective, If it was too complex 4 u, then thats an indictment of those that graduated u from skool. So who has exposed ignorance eh?

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
@olums008, thanks for showing ur appreciation. I also applied yesterday. To all those finding it difficult to register, I suggest u guys read the instructions carefully. After sending the SMS, it takes a while to get a response. When u get a response, ure supposed to log on to the website i.e. www.netsnigeria.org, click on "Enter site", enter the website and key in ur email address which you sent via SMS at the left side of the website in the space provided, and click on "submit". The application form will then load in a matter of seconds depending on your internet speed. Fill out the form and submit it. You should get a confirmation email in a matter of seconds or minutes. If u check your mailbox and cannot find the confirmation email, check your "spam" folder, it should be there. Hope this helps all those having some difficulty in registering.

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
I was listening 2 d radio dis morn and by happenstance got RHYTHM 93.7 Benin and heard d advert over the radio and I'm hoping somone also heard it somewhere. But has that dispelled my doubts? Barely! Pls check out Job& Link &Dot &Cm and see what a well cordinated scam looks like. Its HQ is in Benin u reg online and get a no. and write an exam online (of course after a token) as real as sh*t but its an elaborate scam that draws u in stage by stage. I'd be impressed when i see d advert on on NTA/FRCN. Yaradua cant be that stupid 2 forget 2 do that! or can He? So am I still applying? PROBABLY

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
@jwesley. Your dogged pessimism is simply astounding I must say. You amaze me at how persistent you are in really condemning this, you just don't give up do you? You seem to have a knack for pointing out the flaws in things no matter how good or otherwise they seem. The funny thing is I still don't know how to react to your relentless cynicism but I have one thing to say. Just in case this job hunting thing doesn't work out well, or doesn't pay off the dividends you want, you can always try pursuing a career in becoming a Nollywood Movie Critic, that way you'll have a field day in venting your anger and negativity appropriately. It's just a suggestion. What do you think?
-
Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
@Sweetie i'm laughing my off. its called guided optimism, not negativity so I rest my case. Time 2 apply afterall "na wetin man look comot face him mates take dey pass am!" afterall wetin b 100card 2 deny me a chance, no mata how remote. But I've got a feelin some1 is gonna be havin a grt xmas. Just kiddin

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
most of us here spend money for unnecessary things daily, some of us pay N150 daily to browse to get jobs and we are still doing it. N100 will kill nobody. take the risk (i wonda if N100 should be called a risk). i have sent the sms and i have registered on the site. if it is genuine thank God, if it is not thank God. 8)
-
Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
Leslieking, the N100 is not the problem but to give out the dough when you are somehow skeptical about the whole processs, afterall if you want to take a bike to most offices in VI ,one pays nothing less than N100.Have you done your own, and these people do not promise a specific job after the whole process.
-
Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
Hello....esp @jwesley...dont let over skeptimism get u to miss out from dis offer. I saw dis same advert on d hard copy of d same guardian, and i feel strongly we shld give d govt/wateva institution d benefit of doubt. i dont think 100naira is much of a risk. See it this way...all d excess billions of dollars we hear on tv, maybe its one of dose means for an excuse on which d money was/is being spent...So enjoy while it lasts
-
Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
Sweetzee, thanks for the post. Well it could be scam really cos it sounds false to think FG is kinda interested in unemployed graduates all of a sudden. And like jwesley said if FG really wants anoda feather on its cap, you can bet your last kobo on it that it will be all over NTA and all Nigerian news. There's no point blaming The Guardian cos they "Caveat Emptor" with their adverts.Let's just watch and pray and that's not to say those that want to apply shouldn't. Goodluck and Godbless.
-
Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment

Re: NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SCHEME (NETS) Graduate Recruitment
On second thought I'm goin 2 keep my 100bucks. I'm not donating any longer, I'm sure by now they all ready have enuff anyway. this is DEFINITELY A SCAM! Now Y'all can quote me on that. I can reel out a dozen reasons y Its a SCAM but each time we do that, we only make these scammers perfect their game! But look at that site and open your EYEZ!!! OK? Let me give Just ONE:
Y wasnt ANY, I mean Any single corporate Organization Listed on the site? Simple----- DENIABILITY. Corporate organizations are efficient and well organized so with a simple confirmation fone call the, scam might be given away so they leave that blank and list websiteless NDE and untraceable British Council, smartttttt.
feel free 2 donate afterall its better 2 fall in a pit with your eyez open than closed.
