Fellow Nigerians,
Isn't it quite surprising how employers in Nigeria only request applications from applicants having several years of different experiences. They seem not to have a training program in place to ensure knowledge and skills transfer. Outrightly, I just wonder where the experience would come from without first getting a hands-on training. I think Nigerian employers should see how trainings as well as mentoring would be provided for freshers or starters to bring them up to speed. We all know that Rome wasn't built in a day and most of these trainings and experiences are never learnt from the books.
As much as they desire experinced hands to run their daily operations they should as well have a training scheme in place to ensure the sustainability of skills/knowledge. I fear that we may be heading for a future with a pool of job seekers without any industrial training/experience as it seems all the companies are reshuffling the trained or experienced hands. May God help us!
Rgds,
Dave.
