Zonal Finance Officer at WaterAid Nigeria

WaterAid is a UK based charity dedicated exclusively to the provision of safe water for domestic use, sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people. WaterAid currently has projects in Bauchi, Benue, Enugu, Ekiti, Jigawa and Plateau States.
WaterAid is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of Zonal Finance Officer based at the Plateau Zonal Office, Jos - one (1) year contract.

Requirements

BSc degree or HND in Accounting is essential.
A strong knowledge of fund accounting regulations for non-profit organisations or part qualified Accountant ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CPA is desirable.

A minimum of three years work experience in accountancy; excellent working knowledge of Excel & Word (MS Office in general) & experience in handling cash are essential.
Accounting experience in an international development organisation and considerable experience in using an accounting package are desirable.

Skill / Abilities
Attention to details; fluency in spoken and written English language; ability to work independently and in a team; highly numerate and strong accounting knowledge are essential.
Excellent planning and priorities skills & strong analytical/problem solving skills are desirable.

Other Qualities
Excellent oral and written communication skills, well developed and proven interpersonal skills; able to work effectively in a diverse team environment; confident to train staff effectively in a fast-paced environment & high integrity are essential.
Self-motivation and ability to work without close supervision; creativity and ability to take initiative and effectively promote the WaterAid's mission values, and objectives are desirable.
