It is becoming terrible the way the age factor is used in this country to discriminate among job seekers. All forms of discrimination are there and they are being fought but it seems no one is interested in this one.
Most banks use upper ceiling of 26 years and some oil industry use 28 years. I think these are reasonable enough. At that age one ought to be stabilised somewhere. But is that the reality? How many Nigerians graduate at 25 years? Mind you, you have to added your stay at home at least a year before NYSC and the one year for NYSC.
I am not surprised when I see some people who from all indications are above 30 years claiming 25 years. So what? Na you be em mama? Even people already employed have different birth certificates for different purposes. Lie upon lie everywhere!!!
Now, what is the way forward? Should we all continue to change our ages to secure and keep a job or the age factor be removed as practiced in UK? Who will help us? National Assembly? I will not be surprised if they choose to probe this message!
Please, we must collectively fight this monster.
@ Bugeoff, i think ds age factor started a long time ago, even most of the people in authority falsified their ages. may God help us o.
