Job Description

  • Provide high quality petrophysical evaluations for all asset team wells.
  • Quantify formation and fluid properties ‐ lithology, porosity, hydrocarbon and water saturations, net sand/pay, net‐to‐gross, permeability, fluid type, and fluid viscosity.
  • Work with geologists, engineers and geological technician to develop core, log and fluid relationships for input into geological and reservoir models.
  • Act as petrophysical focal point for all asset petrophysical activities ‐ including maintenance of asset petrophysical database, reservoir surveillance and petrophysical data acquisition and End of Well Reports.
  • Provide petrophysical input to field development, exploration and drilling plans.
  • Plan well logging and data acquisition programmes.
  • Ensure new and innovative tool technologies are considered at the well planning stage. Work closely with other subsurface team members on multi‐disciplinary projects.
  • Participate in peer reviews, and contribute to management and joint venture partner meetings

Requirements

  • University graduate with a high quality engineering/science/geology degree.
  • Sound technical knowledge with at least 10 years relevant experience including significant time within an operating company.
  • Proven ability to perform detailed multi‐well petrophysical analyses as part of integrated reservoir studies and deliver necessary input data for static and dynamic models.
  • Expert knowledge of advanced petrophysical interpretation techniques and software.
  • Experience of working effectively in multi‐disciplinary, multi‐cultural teams.
  • Effective communicator with an ability to mentor younger staff.
  • The Company is at an early stage of growth and the individual must be prepared to deal with significant levels of uncertainty and changing priorities whilst remaining focused on delivering business targets in a structured manner.
  • Detailed knowledge of the geology of, and/or operations within, the Niger Delta would be an advantage.
