EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- A graduate degree in elect/elect or related discipline.
- Hand on experience in polymer chemistry, device fabrication, electrical device testing and materials characteristics is also helpful.
- A background in flexible organic electronic materials and devices will be an advantage

INTRO:
 The industrial electrician will be responsible for design, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems and act as lead worker to other technical staff within each project.
Duties and responsibilities
Design, configuration and installation
· Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial; electrical equipment installation
· Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and electrical components
· Test electrical and electronic equipment and components
· Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors
· Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
· Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
· Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
· Install, maintenance and caliberate industrial instrumentation and related devices
· Inspect, isolate, troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunction using various test instruments
· Test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency; plan the layout and wiring of new or remodeled installations
· Fabrication electrical parts; inspect completed work for conformance with specifications requirement and compliance with applicable buildinding and safety codes and regulations
· Inspect related work performed by contractors
· Estimate cost, time and materials for electrical projects; participate in the maintenance and operations of the organisation’s electrical shop/store
· Clean, maintain and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties
· Assist in the wiring of specifications for repair and new construction
Record management and procurement
· Maintains appropriate service and repair records
· Research, purchase equipment parts, chemical and supplies.
Safety
· Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures
· Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition
· Follow established safety procedure and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing etc
· Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to manager immediately
Industry knowledge
· Establish working knowledge of various electrical and supplier’s technologies
· Drive the technical due diligence from initial screen until turnover to the project management group for the implementation phase. This will involve identifying known risks(i.e technical, construction, price, schedule, environmental, warranties, performance guarantees etc); indicate impact and how they will be addressed and mitigated
Skills and specifications
· Good communication skills both written and verbal is important
· Ability to participate in and contribute toward technical discussion or issues
· Must be innovative, result- oriented, self-motivated and able to work independently or in a term
· Should be able to meet targets and deadlines
· A good judgment is required to identify problems make repairs in accordance with the requirements of established codes and make recommendations
· Ability to work as part of a team and to collaborate with the other units
Ability to adapt to technological changes to our structures

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Possession of two to five years of experience in industrial environmental maintaining controls and electrical equipment, especially in programmable logic controllers and variable speed controls for motors
Special experience with large scale electrical projects
Working knowledge of electricity and hazard posed by electrical equipment and conductors is required
Working knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies and ability to establish maintenance
