Service Location: Lagos
Purpose of Service :
• Assist the SPS Engineering Manager in preparation of the Basic Engineering (BE) Design Dossier and
Call for Tender (ITT) package for the SPS.
• Provide specialist support for supervision of the BE Contractor for Subsea Control System related
elements of the SPS.
• Participate to tender evaluation of CFT responses and in preparation of the Recommendation To Award
(RTA).
• Manage and supervise the Subsea Control System element of the SPS Contract, based at the EPC
Contractors offices, during detailed design phase.
Scope of Service :
During CFT and basic design period up to Contract Award:-
• Follow-up of Basic Engineering (BE) Contractors activities related to the Subsea Control System (SCS)
in order to ensure compliance with Company / Project specifications and in accordance with the BE
schedule requirements.
• Ensure implementation in his/her own discipline of all HSE and QC requirements and report to SPS

Engineering Manager on any deviation.
• Manage the production of the BE Design Dossier for the SCS to ensure that design definition is
consistent with the objectives of the Call for Tender (CFT).
• The evaluation and reporting of the execution of the BE Contractor’s scope of work including, as
required, the identification and management of any required remedial actions
• Optimisation of the proposed technical solutions for the SCS.
• Review / development of the SPS Scope of Supply document for the Subsea Control System and
associated equipment– production deliverables, test equipment, installation aids and spares – to ensure
it is complete and in accordance with SPS Contract needs.
• Evaluation of the commercial aspects of the CFT Exhibits as they affect the SCS with particular
emphasis on Contract Execution strategy including schedule, testing programmes, QA / QC
requirements and interface management.
• Liaison with Company SCS specialists within technical department to ensure conformance of design to,
or for approval to derogate from, Company specifications.
• Inter-package coordination within Company Project teams to ensure coherency of cross package design
and project execution interfaces.
• Report to the SPS Engineering Manager formally, on a weekly and monthly basis, and on an ad-hoc
basis with respect to SCS related activities.
• Participate to preparation of the CFT Appraisal Procedures and Documentation.
• Assist in evaluation of the responses to the CFT and in preparation of the Recommendation to Award
(RTA) for the SPS Contract.
• Assist in the resolution of technical and execution related queries from both the BE Contractor and
Company teams. Review proposed deviations and give recommendation for project management
approval.
• Review and evaluation of BE Contractor documentation within the prescribed period.
• Organise and / or represent Company for SCS related matters in meetings with the BE Contractor,
Company Project Teams and Corporate entities
During Project Execution phase:-
• Follow-up of the detailed engineering, manufacture, FAT, EFAT and SIT for the Subsea Control System
(SCS) and related equipment for Egina and any future, associated field developments to ensure
compliance with Contract specifications and requirements.
• Ensure implementation in his/her own discipline of all HSE and QC requirements and report to SPS
Package Manager on any deviation.
• Manage the Company Project team dedicated to the SCS element of the SPS Package to ensure the
technical, budget and schedule objectives for the SCS are met and that the responsibilities of the job
description are discharged.
• Participate in Design Review and evaluations to ensure equipment to be manufactured is fit for purpose
for offshore & operational optimisation.
• Evaluate Company SCS workload and identify, as necessary, additional resources or the means
required to meet Contract objectives to the SPS Manager.
• Instigate and manage weekly progress meetings with Contractor, and provide weekly and monthly
reports to SPS Package Manager.
• Assist the SPS Package Manager in the analyses and resolution of Change Order Requests.
• Liaise with the SPS Package Manager in the analyses of SCS related budgets.
• Report engineering and/or fabrication progress regularly to the SPS Package Manager, highlighting
critical problems and identifying schedule and cost impacts. Propose recovery methods and work with
Contractor to ensure implementation.
• Review and management of Contractor resources and organization, identifying that they are adequate

(and competent) for achieving the discipline works.
• Effect successful manufacture and testing of all Subsea Controls equipment purchased through SPS
Contractor.
• Monitor and advise on Third Party Procurement and compliance of same with project Requirements.
• Liaise with other disciplines (particularly Manifolds, Trees and Installation and Work Over Controls
System - IWOCS) and Packages (UFR, FPSO, Drilling and Field Operation teams) to ensure crosspackage
and inter-contract compliance and consistency in installation and operation.
• Review and comment on detailed design documents to ensure consistency with Egina Drawings,
Specifications and Procedures.
• Propose to the SPS Engineering Manager, the disposition of Deviations, Concessions and /or
Derogation requests as they affect the SCS.
• Participate to or organize any technical or co-ordination meeting necessary to fulfill the job
responsibilities.
• Prepare in relation with the SPS Package and Quality Managers, the QA/ QC surveillance systems to be
put in place.
• Liaise with Package QA Manager for the management of surveillance activities within the SCS Package.
Essential service provider qualifications / experience (if relevant):
• Education: Professional engineer
• Qualification: 10 to 15 years experience in Subsea Control Systems equipment, including topsides as
well as underwater located components. Previous experience of Company / Operator Representation
during FEED / Basic Engineering Studies is a distinct advantage
• Mobility: Dependent upon Basic Engineering Contractor location but initial placement is envisaged as
primarily in Nigeria with the potential for international trips.
• Language: English fluent
