Main Purpose of Job
The Supply Chain Manager is accountable for the management, control, recording and reporting of all material and finished goods movements, from receipt through to dispatch. In this he/she leads the Plant Information Team and the Plant logistics Team, and is the primary Plant interface with the KCSSA West Africa Supply Chain Team and all outsourced logistics service providers. In addition, the Supply Chain Manager is also accountable for supporting the Operations team with all relevant production data, such as output analysis and material usage variances

Main Responsibilities
Directs plant information team to provide on time information and analysis to the operations management and teams.
Develops, implements and optimizes new techniques and approaches in operations data gathering and analysis.
Initiates and participates in strategic discussions and initiatives as part of the FMT.
Interacts closely with all functional areas, including Production, Quality, EHS, Finance, Planning (Mill and Corporate), Procurement and Engineering.
Develops and implements best practice management based on Lean Practices in areas of responsibility.
Ensures all SAP MIS related transactions are completed as per regular and periodic financial and reporting deadlines.
Maintains all information production systems and ensures high level of accuracy and availability.
Effectively liaises with the third party operators of our finished goods and materials storage and handling facilities, retaining responsibility for all movements between production and hand-over to internal or external distribution functions.
Manages the logistics function at the Lagos facility, ensuring at all times correct inventory management, handling and security principles are adhered to.
Co-ordinates supply chain resource on site to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of customer request including, all material supply to the operations areas.
Manages inventory levels of the inbound logistics area, ensuring at all times the correct stock levels are maintained according to working capital targets.
Ensures all CFI controls are adhered to in the material and finished goods warehouses.
Provides sound advice and counsel to plant leadership on all supply chain matters to assist in minimizing working capital whilst delivering customer service requirements
Creates an environment of continuous improvement through empowerment, education and training within his/her team. Ensures compliance with the expenditure budget allocated

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications / Experience
Minimum a degree or equivalent degrees, preferably in a logistics or engineering discipline. Other business oriented qualifications will be considered if combined with extensive manufacturing supply chain management experience.
Minimum 10 years in a manufacturing environment in supply chain, logistics and inventory management, with 5 years at a team or functional leadership level.
Good Working Knowledge of a modern ERP system, preferably SAP R3,
Sound knowledge of all elements of MRP, including bills of material, routing, manufacturing, product costing. Customs
Ability to work collaboratively with multi-dimensional and functional teams within the facility and across the business.
Technically competent in all aspects of manufacturing-oriented supply chain logistics
Extensive business process information knowledge in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage
