Any clue to the brick's puzzle?

a friend of mine was interviewed on thursday and he was asked this question.a man went to a store to buy an item,he asked for 1 and they said 2 pounds,10 they said 4 pounds and 100 for 6 pounds whats the name of the item.anybody with a solution?

@kemito2001, the answer (or the item) is 1. From the question, the man went to the store to buy "an item" that's singular. He got to the store and immediately asked for 1 (what he wanted to buy).

here's another riddle that was asked

"In a storey buildn dt has an elevator(lift),a woman stays at d 10th floor bt if nobody is in the lift,she has to stop at d 8th floor and use d stairs 2 get 2 d 10th floor and she doesn't like stress,exercise,d situatn.Wots d cause?
Guess she is too short to reach the 10 button or just a storey building, no 8th or 10th floor"

The fisrt stage interview has come and gone. Mine was cool and ok. I want to appreacaite all those that contributed to the free flow of information. We will surely get they.
