    Job Description
    A reputable Oil & Gas Firm in Rivers, requires the services of an experienced and qualified individual to fill this role.

    Responsibilities:
    Support a core team of discipline engineers in providing engineering support to SODA Project.
    Ensure adequacy of rotating equipment engineering input into the activities of the SODA project team.
    Review projects' engineering deliverables and provide discipline inputs as specified in DCAF, ACAL, and Manual of technical approvals.
    Contribute to the development of equipment specifications and ensure compliance with Client standards and DCAF guidelines.
    Initiate, contribute and partake in all technical and Safety audits and design reviews to ensure compliance with legislation and Client global policies, guidelines and standards.
    Provide Technical Assurance in SODA projects and expert inputs / advice.
    Provide expert technical advice to approving authority on technical dispensation / non-conformance.
    Maintain frequent contact with the Client Engineering community in order to keep abreast of developments in engineering technology, as well as disseminate and imbibe best practices.
    Provide support for corporate Engineering initiatives.
    Coach and mentor sub-ordinates and ensure that sub-ordinates have personal development plans and also receive coaching and mentoring.
    To successfully manage multiple project engineering designs, equipment procurement and installation works by a local EPC contractor to achieve optimum project execution in a timely and cost effective manner, and without compromising technical integrity, operability, maintainability and reliability.
    To challenge accepted views, methodologies and standards, in order to optimise bottom line costs, while still ensuring asset integrity and safety are not compromised.
    To advise and provide clarifications on Rotating Equipment Engineering related issues in a manner that supports the project goals, operational criteria and guidelines for technical specifications and stakeholder requirements while ensuring that project activities meet technical design specifications, performance, and safety standards.
    To achieve cost effectiveness and a 'fit-for-purpose' design without compromising technical integrity, operability, maintainability and reliability.
    To improve the level of technical HSE in Client's operations to achieve and exceed Group minimum standards.

    Qualification and Requirements:
    Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
    Professional Engineer with at least 10 years post graduation relevant mechanical engineering experience in the Oil & Gas / petrochemical industry, particularly in the areas of rotating equipment engineering design, construction, commissioning and start-up of related equipment and installations.
    At least 5 years experience of working in a similar role on a major project.
    Broad knowledge of the other disciplines such as process, technical safety, instrumentation, control & automation, electrical and civil/structural engineering will be an advantage.
    Demonstrable experience in technical clarifications, equipment specification, inspection and testing major mechanical engineering facility.
    Working knowledge of the Client DEP system, and familiarity with appropriate International Standards.
    Experienced with the requirements of MECHANICAL HANDLING, HAZOP, SIL, ERGONOMICS and LAYOUT Methodology studies.
    Capable of managing the link between Contractors and the equipment Vendors /Manufacturer to ensure that the facilities are built in compliance with Client Group standards and Client HSSE policies.
    Good technical and communication (including written) skills.
    Strong conceptual innovative thinking with technical and analytical skills.
    Potential to develop strong leadership skills.
    Self-starting ability, driven to succeed, and a proven achiever.
    Willingness to ask questions, learn, and develop new abilities
    Proven ability to deliver in a challenging environment.
