Adexen HR and Recruitment Services is seeking to recruit an Operations Manager for one of its clients in Nigeria.

Our client is a marine services company with a fleet of vessels that includes Oil Tankers, Accommodation Barges, Crew Boats, DP, PSV vessels and AHTS vessels.
Job Title: Operations Manager
Job Location: Lagos

The Operations Manager will lead and manage ALL aspects of vessel operations and resources to deliver cost effective, timely and high quality services to customers.

Operations

  • Responsible for the effective management of the company's fleet operations in line with the strategic direction set by the company.
  • To lead and manage cross functional departmental teams within the company
  • To meet project deliverables in accordance to contract requirement with respect to time, quality and cost
  • To be responsible of the execution of the activities of the site, in terms of quality, safety, respect of commitments and obligations.
  • To ensure operations and services are in line with Company’s QHSE policies
  • To ensure technical, logistical, and operational support of all ongoing service contracts


Financial Management

  • To develop, recommend and administer annual operating and capital budgets
  • Experience with Profit and Loss.
  • To plan and monitor expenditures to ensure cost effective support of programmes and policies.
  • To monitor, oversee and control revenue generating activities.


Business Developments

  • To develop and execute business expansion / diversification plans
  • To capture market intelligence, provide key inputs for tenders and pricing
  • To develop and execute business expansion plans for key existing customers
  • To Maintain and develop the relationship with the local stakeholders, customers, partners and institutions.
  • To interact and engage with external parties in order to enhance the reputation of the company and facilitate the growth of the business


Leadership, HR & conflict resolution

  • To be able to gain input from many different people and use a participative decision-making approach when appropriate
  • To establish clear and consistent expectations and follow up on critical tasks and hold people accountable in a tough, but fair manner.
  • To motivate and connect with people with a sense of enthusiasm, passion and commitment for their work and encourage them to do their best
  • To develop the local content within the company activities and training local human resources
  • To resolve conflicts, confrontations and disagreements in a positive and constructive manner.
  • To ensure staff are appropriately selected, utilized, appraised and developed


Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree - Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture with System Designs or similar qualification with a strong technical background.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in the management of vessel and fleet management operations.
  • Good knowledge/ operational experience in manning ROVs, manning various FPSOs, Offshore Facilities and Offshore Support Vessels
  • Good knowledge and experience in Dive operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of all business functions associated with marine operations
  • Proven ability to work in a challenging, dynamic and stressful environment
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing operational budgets and sound understanding of financial management principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, coordinating and implementing plans, policies and procedures in support of organisational strategic objectives
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Experience working in Africa and/or ability to work in Nigeria shall be an added advantage.
  • Fluent English is a must.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
